SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Visitors attending the Illinois Products Farmers' Market this Thursday will not only enjoy fresh Illinois produce, but also have a chance to purchase 2008 Illinois State Fair Grandstand tickets. In preparation for the fair, which is less than two weeks away, the Grandstand ticket office, like the farmers' market, will be open until 7 p.m. July 31.
Tickets can be purchased then for any of the Grandstand's six concerts, plus the ARCA and USAC auto races and the fair's first go-kart races. This year's Grandstand line-up includes pop sensation Fergie, comedian Weird Al Yankovic, classic rockers Huey Lewis and the News, rock ‘n roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top and country legends Brooks and Dunn. Ticket prices range from $10 to $38, depending upon the artist and seat location. A complete list of artists and ticket prices is available online at www.illinoisstatefair.info.
The Illinois Product Farmers' Market is located under the Commodities Pavilion across the street from the Grandstand and is open every Thursday until Oct. 30, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m., with the exception of the two Thursday's during the fair.
More than 30 vendors are already confirmed for Thursday's market, double the amount that took part on June 26, the market's first week at the fairgrounds. For a complete list of participating vendors, visit www.illinoisproductmarket.com.
The Illinois State Fair will be held Aug. 8 - 17.
